Please note: You are not required to register for a barcode to attend College Night.

We are partnering with the Texas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (TACRAO) and GoToCollegeFairs.com to provide barcode scanning at our fair.  A barcode allows you to easily share your contact information with college admissions representatives.  Students and parents can each register for their own barcode.

When you register for your barcode, you will also complete College Matchmaking questions. Students choose from various college attributes they find interesting, including:

• Campus size (small, medium, large)

• Campus setting (urban, suburban, rural)

• Majors offered (a large list of categories)

• Institution type (2 year, 4 year, private, public, etc.)

• Geographic region (varied)

 

How does this benefit students?

Students will receive an email with a list of matches immediately, uncovering new opportunities they may not have realized were a good match. This list helps to streamline the fair for students by helping to guide them to institutions that match their preferences. The email also contains helpful questions that students can ask so they can effectively engage college representatives, focus their conversations and get the most value out of their time at the fair. 

 

Step-by-step barcode registration instructions:

1. Visit https://FallTacrao.swoogo.com/Registration  If you have never registered to attend an HPHS college night before (either in-person or virtual,) click on New Users: Create an Account Here and follow the steps to create your account.  If you have previously registered to attend either an in-person or virtual college fair at HPHS, click Previous Users: Sign In Here and enter your email address and password.

2. Enter or confirm your personal information

3. Choose your fair.  Check the box for TACRAO All Texas Virtual Fairs if you wish to attend any virtual event.  Scroll down on the page until you reach the “Dallas I” section and then check the box next to Dallas I – Highland Park High School.  Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and click “Continue.”

4. Complete the College Matchmaking questions and click “Continue.”

5. Enter final student information and certification. Click “Continue.”

 

Your barcode will be shown on the last page. Take a screenshot and show it to the representatives at College Night to share your contact information.
